Hello from Barry orr
Hi, I've been teaching for 16 years, mostly in the UK, but currently in Shanghai, China. I've just been offered a new job, so I'll be moving to Dubai with my family in August 2023. I used to use Geometer's Sketchpad lots many years ago and I'm looking to get some of those dynamic skills back into the classroom. I've seen how powerful dynamic geometry can be. But I'm also keen to enable students to understand the underlying concepts of what they're doing rather than process and product only. I'm a passionate cook, especially Indian food, and over the summer released my own curry sauce to the public that sold out within hours. Also food related, I run a Cooking Club in my school, teaching students some basic kitchen skills to prepare them for university. Richard Wow, that is awesome, Barry. Welcome aboard. No doubt you enjoy food in other countries as an ex-pat! Yes, GeoGebra will blow your mind, I think, once you get the hang of it. Sketchpad will have provided you with a decent foundation. Enjoy! Hello from Bhaskaran Malapaka
I've been teaching for 20 years in Australia. I am currently working at Canterbury Boys High School. I would like to incorporate Geogebra in to my teaching. My hobby is to search various strategies to make the content more meaningful and easy to learn. Richard That is a great hobby Bhaskaran. Welcome aboard. Enjoy! |
Hello from Benjamin Loo
Hi all, I am Benjamin Loo. I am from Singapore and I am currently teaching in Hong Kong at Victoria Shanghai Academy. I have 15 years of teaching experience and I specialize mainly in DP and MYP Mathematics. I have always wanted to incorporate technology more effectively into my lessons, giving students the opportunity to explore mathematical concepts effectively in a fun, intriguing and dynamic environment. Geogebra is a tool I have used in my lessons but they are mainly limited to the templates I have found online. I hope that I am able to attain the technical expertise needed to use Geogebra to aid my students in their learning of mathematics. In my free time, I do boxing and I am a fitness freak. I look forward to knowing each and everyone of you and to share some wonderful ideas in teaching mathematics with geogebra. Richard Welcome aboard Benjamin. This is absolutely the PD for you. Can't wait to see what you produce. Hello from Anthony Murphy
I have been teaching for 31 years, currently in Hong Kong. I hope to be able to gain the skills to allow my students get to love the why as well as the answer. I am a sports tragic and love my rugby league (go the Raiders) and the cricket. Richard Welcome aboard Anthony. ... and like building kit models, so I hear! Enjoy! |
