Are all the courses online?
I've done some terrible online courses in my time - theory-heavy, poor facilitation, problematic navigation, ambiguous instructions ... the list gos on. Should I be concerned with Learn Implement Share courses?
We hear you! Understand that Learn Implement Share courses have been designed create participant experiences which are the antithesis of the one you describe. Learn Implement Share courses are highly relevant to the classroom. They are very light-on re theory (courses are theory-backed but there is no need to torture participants with it!) ... and very heavy on practical application. It is extremely rare to have someone complete a course and not see improvements in their students commensurate with their efforts afforded to the course.
How long do Learn Implement Share courses typically run for?
Most run for 4 months. Extensions are possible.
Learn Implement Share originated in Australia. How are they relevant to non-Australian teachers?
There are two aspects of the courses which are clearly Australian - the accent of the presenter and the 'down to earth, Aussie feel' about them. They are extremely practical and contain very little rhetoric. More to the point, courses are not curriculum-specific. Rather, they each centre around pedagogy and/or technology appropriate for teachers universally.
What year levels do Learn Implement Share courses cater for?
Middle School and High School.
What are the requirements to successfully complete a course?
All course requirements are based on participation. Classroom implementations of course strategies and resources are a key requirement of all courses as are the submission of reflective comments and summaries of implementation experiences. However, no grading of submissions occurs.
What if I do not complete a course in the required time?
At Learn Implement Share we fully understand the many pressures which teachers experience both within teaching and privately. Every opportunity is given to participants to support them in completing a course according to a time frame suitable to them, within reason. All participants demonstrating a desire to complete a course will be afforded every opportunity to complete the course.
